Seattle Public Utilities Programs and Resources:
Seattle Public Utilities fosters healthy people and environment by working with you to manage our waste and water. We invite you to learn more about ways you can get involved and about how your public utility is protecting the environment 365 days each year.
- Adopt a Street: Volunteer-run litter and graffiti removal program.
- Steward our trees: Become a Seattle Tree Steward and preserve trees around Seattle’s urban forest.
- Care for your storm drain: Reduce water pollution and flooding by raking leaves, stenciling storm drains, and/or Adopting a Drain!
- Request a free pollution prevention spill kit: We provide free kits and spill prevention plans to Seattle businesses who need help complying with stormwater regulations.
- Take steps to prevent waste: Find simple ways you can waste less and be part of the solution by reducing food waste and participating in Beyond the Cart events. Be part of the solution whether you are at spring cleaning, home, at work, or out on the town.
- ReuseSeattle: Find reusable service providers, reuse incentives, and reduce waste.
- Planet vs. Plastics: This Earth Day, practice 5 ways to break free from plastic.
- Visit and learn more about our Cedar River Watershed.
- Saving Water Partnership: Attend a gardening class, find tips, tools, rebates and information for saving water.
