The Green Seattle Partnership, which Seattle Public Utilities is a part of, needs volunteers to help reach its goal of restoring 2500 acres of forested parkland in Seattle by 2025.
Why is forest restoration important?
Salmon and wildlife need cool healthy waters. Good creek habitat includes gravel and woody debris with shade from stream-side native shrubs and trees.
What do volunteers do?
Forest restoration volunteers work on removing invasive plants, planting new native trees and understory plants, and long term maintenance and monitoring of restoration sites.
