Catch the rain and save

Now is a great time to purchase a rain barrel and take advantage of Seattle’s spring rains.

Seattle Public Utilities customers can purchase high-quality rain barrels for $75 plus tax from the Seattle Conservation Corps. Similar rain barrels retail for over $100.

Rain barrels allow gardeners to collect Seattle’s famed rain for use in their yards and hold between 50 to 60 gallons of water. Just one inch of rain falling on 1,000 square feet of roof adds up to 623 gallons.

To purchase rain barrels, visit www.seattle.gov/binsandbarrels or call the Seattle Conservation Corps at 206-684-0190. Barrels cost $75 plus tax and home delivery is available for a $15 fee. Learn more.
