Seattle Public Utilities fosters healthy people and environment by working with you to manage our waste and water. We invite you to learn more about ways you can get involved and about how your public utility is protecting the environment 365 days a year.
- Adopt a Street: Volunteer-led litter removal program.
- Steward our trees: Become a Seattle Tree Steward and preserve trees around Seattle’s urban forest.
- Care for your storm drain: Reduce water pollution and flooding by raking leaves, Adopting a Drain, or stenciling storm drains during May!
- Green Stormwater Infrastructure: Prevent flooding, sewer overflows, and pollution by building a rain garden or cistern through the Rainwise rebate program.
- Compost Right! Make sure your organics, food scraps, and yard waste go in the green cart to become added nutrients to the soil.
- Take steps to prevent waste: Learn about simple ways you can waste less and be part of the solution by reducing food waste and participating in Beyond the Cart events.
