The Thanksgiving holiday is coming up, and while you’re preparing for festive feasts and gatherings with friends and family, don’t forget about changes to your solid waste collection services.
There will be no garbage, recycling and food & yard waste collected on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. Service for that day, and the remainder of the week, will be delayed by one day due to the holiday.
- If your regular collection delay is Thursday, November 28, place your carts out on Friday, November 20.
- If your regular collection day is Friday, place your carts out on Saturday, November 30.
Additionally, the City of Seattle’s North and South Transfer Stations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. They will reopen on Friday, November 29, and ready to serve you.
Have a happy and waste=wise Thanksgiving, Seattle!
Stay Ready for Winter Weather Collection Delays
As the holiday season unfolds, we know that snow and wintry conditions can sometimes disrupt collection services. Collection trucks can weigh up to 30 tons and cannot safely navigate snow and icy streets. Keep up to date on any potential delays or service changes:
