While state and local restrictions have lifted and many people are returning to life the way it was before the pandemic, the financial impacts of COVID-19 are still making it hard for many of our neighbors to pay their bills.
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is committed to ensuring that essential services are available to everyone. We offer customer financial assistance through programs like the Utility Discount Program and the Emergency Assistance Program, but we wanted to offer a way for neighbors to help neighbors, as well.
That’s why we created the new SPU Community Donation Fund.
Every dollar donated through the Community Donation Fund goes directly to help supplement SPU’s Emergency Assistance Program, which provides one-time emergency financial assistance to help qualifying customers pay their SPU bills.
Donations to the fund can be made online, through your utility bill, or by check. Learn more and donate today at seattle.gov/utilities/donations.
