Celebrate Summer with Green Seattle Partnership

Summer events image credit to Friends fo John C. Little ParkWith school out and long summer days ahead, there are endless ways to combine forest restoration with other fun summer activities in Seattle parks. Join a Green Seattle Partnership volunteer event. The goal of the partnership, which Seattle Public Utilities is a member, is to actively work to restore and maintain Seattle’s forested parklands. Seattle’s forests reduce stormwater runoff and erosion – protecting our natural environment.

July 6: Take in an early round of golf at Jefferson Park Golf Course before joining the community work party at Lewis Park.

July 13: Picnic on the beach after working with the forest stewards at Golden Gardens.

July 18: Enjoy a sweet serenade by performing artists while you play in the woods with the Nature Consortium at the West Duwamish Greenbelt.

July 21: Go for a dip or launch your kayak for a paddle in Lake Washington after helping to restore the historic native Garry Oaks at Martha Washington Park.

July 26: Love Parks Day: Swim some laps in the heated outdoor saltwater pool (Colman Pool) after showing your love of parks with Seattle Parks Foundation and EarthCorps at Lincoln Park.
