Seattle Recycling More Than Ever Before

Congratulations! For the eighth straight year, Seattle’s residents and businesses have recycled more than the year before. In 2011, Seattle diverted 55.4 percent of its waste away from the landfill and into recycling and composting — an all-time high.

Help make Seattle a greener place to live by:

Putting all leftover food scraps in your yard waste cart.

Recycling all paper, cardboard, bottles, cans and jars.

Teaming up with your neighbors to reduce waste and win $50,000 for your community: www.seattle.gov/util/recyclingrewards.
