Sculpture highlights water supply as critical to web of life
Visual artist Mandy Greer invites you to contribute to her crocheted artwork Mater Matrix Mother and Medium on Saturday, April 21, 1-4 p.m., in the Center House at Seattle Center or Sunday, April 22, noon-4 p.m., in the Next 50 Family Activity Tent between the Center House and EMP. Your creation will be added to the 250-foot fiber-art “river” installed in the trees near the Alki Courtyard.
Learn how to crochet chains and add onto the evolving artwork. All materials will be provided, but yarns or fabric (new or recycled) in any shade of blue are welcome. Mater Matrix Mother and Medium celebrates the splendor of Seattle’s urban creeks and raises public awareness of environmental stewardship, especially as it connects to the water-supply system.
