Normal Collections for Presidents’ Day

Save Time and Trip with Bulky Item Collection

Seattle food and yard waste, garbage and recycling collections will be on normal schedule for Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 20. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) customers should place their containers out for collection by 7 am to ensure collection.

On Presidents’ Day, the City of Seattle’s North & South Recycling and Disposal Stations will be open during their regular business hours: 8 am to 5:30 pm. The North Recycling and Disposal Station is located at 1350 North 34th Street in the Fremont/Wallingford area. The South Recycling and Disposal Station is located at 8105 5th Avenue South in the South Park area.

Customers can report a missed garbage, recycling or food and yard waste collection by calling 206-684-3000 during regular business hours on Tuesday, February 21, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by going online.

Shopping for a Presidents’ Day Sale? If you’re replacing a large item such as a couch, bed or dishwasher and it’s in no condition for selling, exchanging or donating to charity, give SPU a call at 206-684-3000 and request a bulky item collection. SPU will pick up the item from your curb for a $30 fee ($38 for items containing gases) and save you the hassle of driving to the transfer station. The Recycling and Disposal stations accept bulky items for the same $30 fee.

If you want to recycle a refrigerator or a freezer, Seattle City Light will pay you $30 and pick it up for free. Call 1-877-577-0510 or visit www.jacoinc.net to schedule a pickup.
