$200 in Rebates Disappearing

Time is running out for customers to get up to $200 in rebates on water- and energy-efficient clothes washers.

Funds set aside for the state and federal government’s Cash for Appliances Washington program are running low, with five percent of the program’s funds remaining.

The Cash for Appliances Washington program offers a $100 rebate on high-efficiency ENERGY STAR® clothes washers. The Saving Water Partnership’s WashWise program offers rebates of $50 to $100 for the purchase and installation of qualified energy and water-saving clothes washers.

By combining the two rebates, customers could receive up to $200 off their purchase, in addition to any rebates offered by manufacturers and retailers – but time is running out.

All Washington State residents are eligible for the Cash for Appliances rebate with funds available on a first-come-first-served basis. Customers served by the 18 Seattle-area utilities participating in the Saving Water Partnership are eligible for the WashWise rebate.
