West Seattle Reservoir in Service

The newly reconstructed West Seattle Reservoir went into service this week.

The reservoir is one of four in Seattle Public Utilities’ current Reservoir Covering Program. The utility is replacing its open reservoirs with underground structures that will improve the quality and security of our water supply and provide 76 acres of new public open spaces on reservoir lids throughout Seattle.

By covering the 30,000,000-gallon West Seattle Reservoir, citizens will have 20 acres of new open space. The new park is in design development and a construction schedule will be announced this fall.
