SEATTLE – Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) crews have restored normal water service to residents in the View Ridge neighborhood.
Crews made an emergency repair to a 16-inch water main today which required moving approximately 50 View Ridge households to an alternative water distribution source to maintain water delivery.
Normal water service was restored just after 6 p.m.
The emergency repair caused a change in water pressure during the transition to the alternate delivery method. If you believe that you have been impacted by the change in water pressure, please contact SPU’s Operations Response Center (ORC) at 206-386-1800. Three inspectors will be in the neighborhood until 9 p.m. tonight to assist residents and can be contacted via the ORC.
The affected area is located approximately between NE 75th – 80th St. and 35th – 42nd Ave. NE. Additional customers outside of the affected area may experience discolored water arising from the repair work.
Customers experiencing discolored water are advised to try running the water for a few minutes to see if it is clearing or still discolored. If the water does not clear, let the water sit for an hour. Then run the water for a few minutes and flush the toilet a couple of times. If the water remains discolored, please contact SPU’s Operations Response Center at (206) 386-1800.
