Winter Weather Collection Impacts for February 2021: Updated Sunday Feb, 14

UPDATED Sunday, February 14, 2021:

SPU’s North and South Transfer Stations will close today – Sunday, February, 14, 2021 – at 3pm due to winter weather and to allow for staff to get home safely. Pending winter weather conditions, stations will reopen on Monday, February 15, 2021.

Update for Saturday, February 13: Customers missed Friday Feb 12 will be serviced on their next collection day.

Due to staffing limitations and winter weather, there will be some residential garbage, recycling and/or food/yard waste pickup delays in the Wallingford, Green Lake, Rainier Beach and Seward Park neighborhoods on Friday, February 12, 2021.

Weather and road conditions permitting, garbage, recycling, and food/yard waste service will be collected tomorrow, Saturday, February 13, 2021. If your carts are not picked up by the end of Saturday, pull them in and please put them out on your next regularly scheduled pickup day.

Customers missed this week will be allowed to set out double their normal amount of garbage, recycling and yard waste at no additional charge, on their next collection day. For service updates, please check this blog and follow SPU on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram for updates.
