SPU & City Light Customers Impacted by COVID-19 Have Options When It Comes To Billing

At Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) we are aware of the potential impacts of COVID-19 on our customers and our community. We are committed to continuing to provide customers with our services including solid waste collection, maintaining and delivering clean, safe drinking water, as well drainage & wastewater services during the COVID-19 Civil Emergency. We are working to create solutions that will help our customers and our community during this difficult time.

At this time, we have offering two ways customers facing financial difficulty due to COVID-19 can find relief, through the Utility Discount Program and through setting up a payment plan.

The Utility Discount Program provides income-qualified customers with a 50% discount on their Seattle Public Utilities bill and a 60% discount on their Seattle City Light combined bill. Currently you do not need to provide any supporting documentation when you enroll. You only need to fill out the form provided online. You may be asked for supporting documents at a later time.
