No Solid Waste Collection on Thanksgiving Day

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, no garbage, recycling, or food and yard waste will be collected in Seattle on Thursday, Nov. 22. Collections scheduled for Thursday will occur on Friday, and Friday collections will occur on Saturday. Customers should be sure to have their containers out by 7 a.m. to ensure collection.

Customers can report missed garbage, food and yard waste or recycling collections after 5 p.m. on their scheduled collection day by calling (206) 684-3000 or by going to http://www.seattle.gov/util and clicking on “Report Missed Collection.”

Closures: The City of Seattle’s North and South Transfer Stations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. They will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23.

Compost So Life Goes On: Food waste is not allowed in the garbage. Seattle residents should put all Thanksgiving food waste, including turkey bones and food-soiled paper napkins, in their food and yard waste carts.
