Transfer stations closed Thursday, November 23
SEATTLE — Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, no garbage, food and yard waste or recycling will be collected in Seattle on Thursday, November 23. Collections scheduled for Thursday will occur on Friday, and Friday collections will occur on Saturday. Customers should set containers out by 7 a.m. to ensure collection.
Customers can report missed garbage, food and yard waste, or recycling collections after 5 p.m. on their scheduled collection day by calling (206) 684-3000, or filling out a Missed Collection Report online.
Closures: The City of Seattle’s North and South Transfer Stations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. They will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, November 24.
Compost So Life Goes On: Food waste is not allowed in the garbage. Seattle residents should put all Thanksgiving food waste, including turkey bones and food-soiled paper napkins, in their food and yard waste carts.
