Presidents’ Day Shopping? If you’re replacing a large item such as a couch, bed or dishwasher and it’s in no condition for selling, exchanging or donating to charity, give SPU a call at 206-684-3000 and request a bulky item collection. SPU will pick up the item from your curb for a $30 fee ($38 for items containing gases) and save you the hassle of driving to the transfer station. The South Transfer Station accepts bulky items for the same $30 fee.
If you want to recycle a refrigerator or a freezer, Seattle City Light will pay you $30 and pick it up for free.
