Have a kid’s car seat you don’t need? Want to share it with a family in need or make sure that it gets recycled? CoolMom, Zero Waste Washington, WestSide Baby, and Total Reclaim are partnering in collecting car seats for recycling and reuse at the Sustainable Ballard Festival on September 28. Their last event in 2013 resulted in more than 300 car seats diverted from landfills and put to good use. Collection is Sunday, September 28between 11 am and 6 pm. There will be a $5 optional donation towards the recycling program, but no will be seats turned away! There is a maximum of 10 seats per vehicle.
Car seats will be collected in the AmericanWest Bank (Ballard Branch) parking lot. Please enter from NW 56th Street to drop off your seat. The street address is 2237 NW 57th Street, but during the festival, the streets bordering Ballard Commons Park will be closed to through traffic.
