As a part of Call2Recycle’s annual Battery Recycling Day, the rechargeable battery and cell phone collection program put collection boxes at six different library branches across the Seattle.
The neighborhood that collected the most batteries would be crowned “The Greenest Neighborhood in Seattle.”
After the one week collection contest running from June 22 through June 26, a winner emerged. Congratulations to West Seattle. Their branch collected 538 pounds of batteries.
Other branches that participated included: Ballard, Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, Lake City, and University.
