Help reduce the harmful impacts of stormwater
Stewardship Partners will be holding two free rain garden workshops in Seattle:
March 24, Seattle REI Flagship Store
April 21, University of Washington
Rain gardens work like a native forest by capturing and infiltrating stormwater from rooftops, driveways, and other hard surfaces. Rain gardens — reduce flooding by absorbing water from impervious surfaces; filter oil, grease and toxic materials before they can pollute streams, lakes and bays; help to recharge the aquifer by increasing the quantity of water that soaks into the ground; and provide beneficial wildlife habitat.
At the workshop you’ll…
- Learn how to build your own rain garden
- Receive a free rain garden manual.
- Start designing your own rain garden.
- Discover about hands-on learning opportunities this summer.
