This summer join Seattle Public Utilities naturalists and staff for one of our many public tour options of the unique land and water features of the 90,638-acre protected Cedar River Municipal Watershed, the source of 70 percent of the Seattle area’s drinking water.

Drinking Water Discovery Tour
This 3-hour interpretive tour by bus and by foot into the mountain river fed watershed is a great opportunity to see the source of your drinking water and hear the stories of this unparalleled protected watershed.
When: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, 9:45 am – 12:30 pm

Family Cedar Falls Waterfall Tour
This 1-hour family tour will visit Cedar Falls, experience its beauty and find out how important the Cedar River Watershed is to the greater Seattle Region’s drinking water.
When: Saturday June 19, tours all day (Waterfest!)

Habitat Conservation Plan Tour
This 4-hour in-depth tour highlights ten years of Cedar River Watershed Habitat Conservation Plan projects. The tour will explore the role that forest ecological thinning and road restoration projects have had on water supplies, wildlife, and salmon recovery efforts.
When: Saturday, July 31 and Sunday, August, 22, 9:45 am – 1:30 pm
Who: Anyone 12 years or older
Cost: $10 adults, $5 children (age 12+) and seniors
Group Water Discovery Tour
Join us for a van tour for organized groups of nine or more adults seeking in-depth information with spectacular views of Seattle’s drinking water supply. Tours are 2- 3 hours long. Group bus transportation is also an option.
When: Weekends, June; and Tuesday – Thursday, June – September
Who: Organized groups, minimum of nine people. Call for availability.
