Composting is coming to a restaurant near you. Beginning July 1, the City of Seattle will require all restaurants to use only approved compostable or recyclable throw-away or take-out food service ware and packaging. This effort will help keep 6,000 tons of waste out of the landfill every year.
Look for the new compost and recycling bins at your favorite quick-serve restaurants. And when you finish eating, stop, think and sort your leftovers into the new compost, recycling or newly downsized garbage bins. Make compost, not waste!
