Celebrate Arbor Day – Come Plant a Tree!

WoodlawnMulching4_19_12(23)The City of Seattle’s reLeaf program invites you celebrate Arbor Day in October by planting trees. Please RSVP to participate.

When: Saturday, October 18, 9 am – noon

Where: Meet at the corner of South Fletcher Street and 57th Avenue South in Rainier Beach.

These new trees provide us with many benefits, including decreasing flooding from stormwater runoff and that helps protect Puget Sound.

Tools, gloves, refreshments and planting instructions will be provided to volunteers. Dress for the weather and wear closed toe shoes. E-mail questions to TreeAmbassador@Seattle.gov.

Why does Seattle celebrate Arbor Day in the fall? It’s the best time. Trees planted now will get plenty of moisture during the rainy months ahead to help them grow and thrive.
