Thornton Creek Fish Relocation Video

Watch Seattle Public Utilities staff relocate fish at our Thornton Creek Confluence Project.

Seattle Public Utilities has completed a video about fish relocation at the Thornton Creek Confluence Project—a sneak peek behind the construction fence! While SPU staff is working to reduce flooding, fish are transported from one section of the creek to the next, carried past the construction in between.

This process also involves weighing, measuring, tagging, and releasing.  Watershed resource specialist Joe Starstead explains the process and its benefit to the community. Ultimately, Thornton Creek will be healthier, wider, and more accommodating to Northwest fish.
