Ballard Big Garden Give This Saturday

CompostDays_BigGardenGiveLast year, Seattle residents helped divert 125,000 tons of food, food-soiled paper and yard debris from landfills through composting. To celebrate this achievement, Compost Days is offering deep discounts on Cedar Grove Compost, kitchen food scrap containers and compostable bags.

Save on all varieties of Cedar Grove Compost and give back by donating a bag of compost to local gardens growing food to fight hunger.

The Ballard Big Garden Give takes place Saturday, March 29 from 10 am to 4 pm at Fred Meyer, located at  915 NW 45th Street.

For every compost coupon redeemed and every bag donated through April 15, Cedar Grove will donate a bag to local gardens. Compost coupons were mailed in last week’s Curbwaste & Conserve newsletter and are available online.

Donations will be distributed to food-growing gardens managed by Seattle Tilth’s Just Garden Project and WSU Snohomish County Extension Community Gardens.

Can’t make it to the Big Garden Give? Pledge to compost your food scraps online and a bag of compost will be donated to local gardens in your honor.
